Change how your page looks

Your page in your colours and type, with effects, a cover picture or a logo if you want one. Everything is in Look, and the preview shows each change straight away.

Plan: effects, type, shape, cover and logo on every plan. Free has three themes (Zest, Paper and Lime). Every theme and your own colours come with Plus and above.

1. Open Look.
2. Under Theme, pick one. Themes with a padlock need Plus.
3. Under Effects, add a moving background and the rest (see below).
4. Under Colours, change any of the six colours. Zest tells you if any text gets hard to read.
5. Under Type and shape, pick a Typeface, how Buttons and Fill look, the shape of your Picture, and Align.
6. Under Cover, logo and motion, add a Cover (a wide picture across the top) and a Logo to show in place of your name. For a moving cover, paste the address of a short .mp4 video. It plays muted, on a loop.
7. Your profile picture is in Build, at the top: choose Upload a photo or logo.

Effects

On every plan, Free included.

• Background: Flat, Aurora, Silk, Plasma, Galaxy, Light rays, Mesh, Grid or Dither, moving in your page's colours.
• Background photo or video: fills the whole page in place of the moving background. A video plays muted, on a loop.
• Dim: darkens the background so your words stay easy to read, from 0 to 80%.
• Layout: Stack puts everything on the background. Card sits the page in a framed panel over it.
• Buttons and cards: Solid, Glass, Outline, Neon or Brutal.
• Entrance: how the page arrives: None, Rise, Fade, Stagger or Scale.
• Name: Glow, Shimmer, Gradient, Typewriter or Glitch on your name. It shows when your name is in words, so not while your logo is in its place.
• Overlay: Snow, Rain, Petals, Stars or Confetti over the page.
• Tap to enter: a blurred screen first, which visitors tap once to open the page. Change the Words on the screen if you like.

More in Look

• Colour wash (in Cover, logo and motion): Still, Glow or Drift, a slow wash of your highlight colour. It stays still for anyone whose phone asks for less motion.
• Seasonal looks dress the page up for the times of year you choose, with a line at the top and the season's colour on your buttons, then go back to normal by themselves.
• Smart order moves the blocks people tap most, and anything new, up by themselves, within their section. Anything you pin stays put.

If it doesn't work

• The colour boxes are greyed out: your own colours come with Plus and above.
• "Hard to read": the pair it names needs more contrast. Aim for 4.5:1 or more.
• "That picture is too big. Try one under 20 MB." Choose a smaller picture. Pictures are cropped from the centre: square for your profile picture, twice as wide as tall for a cover.
• A video won't upload as a cover: videos go in by address. Upload it somewhere public and paste the .mp4 address.
• A moving background runs slowly on an old phone: pick Flat, or use a still photo.
• Your colours changed by themselves: see My colours changed by themselves.
