How to add a link in bio on TikTok

Where the website link goes on a TikTok profile, who can add one, and what to do until the field appears.

Checked on

On TikTok, go to your profile, tap Edit profile, add your link in the website field and save. The link then shows on your profile. TikTok doesn't show the field on every account, so if it isn't there, see who can add a link below.

The steps come from TikTok's own business guide, checked on 6 November 2026.

Steps

  1. Open the TikTok app and go to your profile.
  2. Tap Edit profile.
  3. Tap Website and add your link, starting with https.
  4. Tap Save, then go back to your profile and tap the link to test it.

Do this in the app on your phone.

TikTok's help centre has an article on this, Link a website or social media account. It didn't load for us, so check the rule there.

Guides that quote it say you can add a website if you have at least 1,000 followers, or if you have a Verified Business Account. TikTok's own business guide says that once a Business Account completes business registration, its category and website link can show on its profile. Registration is under Settings, then Business suite, then Business registration.

What to put there

TikTok gives you one link, so it has to do more work than on Instagram.

For a shop with one website, the website is fine. For anyone with several places to send people (a YouTube channel, an Instagram, a booking page, a new release), one link to a link in bio page holds all of them.

Whatever you link to, check it on a phone. A page that's slow or needs a login loses people fast.

Until the field appears

  • Put a short address in your bio text. People can type it. Keep it short enough to remember: yourname.co.uk beats a long tracking link.
  • Say it in your videos. Say the address out loud, and put it on screen in your best performing video.
  • Use your other profiles. Someone who finds you on TikTok and searches your name on Instagram can find the link there.
  • Look into business registration if you're a registered business.

Common problems

The field isn't there. Check the rule in TikTok's article above, and update the app.

TikTok won't accept the link. Try the full address of the final page, not a shortened link that redirects through others.

The link works for you but not for followers. Check it in a private browser window. If the page needs a login or blocks some countries, that's what followers are seeing.

Visits from inside apps can arrive without saying where they came from, so analytics may count some TikTok visits as direct. A Zest page has a link made for TikTok alone (your address with /tt on the end), free for one page.
