How to add links to your YouTube channel
Add up to 14 links to your channel in YouTube Studio, which links on YouTube can be tapped, and how to turn on advanced features.
Checked on
In YouTube Studio, go to Customisation, then Profile. Under Links, click Add link, enter a title and the address, and click Publish. You can show up to 14 links. The first shows on your channel near the Subscribe button, and the rest appear when someone taps to see more.
The steps below were checked against YouTube Help on 6 November 2026.
Add links on a computer
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- From the left menu, select Customisation, then Profile.
- Under Links, click Add link and enter the title and address of your site.
- Repeat for each link, up to 14.
- Click Publish.
The order matters more than the number. Your first link is the one most visitors see without an extra tap, so make it the link you most want used.
Under Contact info on the same screen you can add an email address for business enquiries. Brands and promoters look for it.
Add links in the YouTube Studio app
- Open the YouTube Studio app (the separate app, not YouTube itself).
- Tap your profile picture at the top right.
- Next to your channel description, tap Edit.
- Under Links, tap Edit.
- Tap Add, then enter the title and address.
- Tap Done, then Save.
Which links can be tapped on YouTube
Channel links are the easy part. YouTube's help page on sharing links sets out the rest:
| Where | Tappable |
|---|---|
| Channel profile links | Yes, up to 14 |
| Descriptions and comments on long videos | Yes, once your channel has advanced features |
| Posts | Only with advanced features |
| Shorts descriptions and comments | No. YouTube made these plain text to cut spam and scams |
| The related video on a Short | Yes, to another YouTube video |
| End screens | Yes |
| Link cards on a video, to an outside site | For channels in the YouTube Partner Programme |
So if you post Shorts, your channel links are the main way a Shorts viewer can reach anything outside YouTube. That makes the first channel link worth thinking about.
Turn on advanced features
Advanced features make links in long video descriptions tappable. In YouTube Studio on a computer:
- Go to Settings, then Channel, then Feature eligibility.
- Verify your phone number under Intermediate features, if you haven't.
- Under Advanced features, see if you already have access. YouTube says most active channels already have enough channel history.
- If not, choose Access features and verify with your ID or a video. YouTube says review usually takes 24 hours, and that these options aren't open to every creator.
What to link to
Up to 14 links sounds like plenty, but only one is in view.
Your channel is the main thing. Put your Patreon, shop or newsletter first, then your other profiles.
YouTube is one of several places you post. Put one link to a link in bio page first, so viewers find your podcast, your Instagram and your shop in a single tap.
Common problems
Links in my descriptions aren't tappable. Your channel doesn't have advanced features yet, or it's a Short. Shorts descriptions are plain text for everyone.
YouTube removed my link. Links must follow YouTube's external links policy. A clean landing page fixes most of these.
The wrong link shows on my channel. Only the first link shows by default. Go back to Customisation, then Profile, and make sure the right one is first.
I can't find Customisation on my phone. It's in YouTube Studio on a computer. On a phone, use the YouTube Studio app steps above.
If YouTube is one of several places you post, a free Zest page can sit in that first link slot and keep your newest videos at the top by itself.
